Room service on steroids

Benjamin’s up now, a little groggy from the previous late night. It helps that we’re able to go slow and just wait for breakfast to arrive, rather than having to go out to eat.

At 8:15, well within the twenty-minute window we were given, the doorbell rings. Room service!

A server in vest and bow tie wheels a cart into the Suite and – oh my goodness… Wow. I don’t know what I was expecting, maybe just our orders on trays or something, but this is truly first class treatment here! The server pulls out a white linen tablecloth and covers the dining room table with it, and then puts out full place settings for the six of us!

It’s amazing. I’m sure we look like a bunch of backwater hicks, because we just stand around watching the server set up the table, gawking at the luxury of it all. We’re being treated like royalty again.

After the table is set, the server places our already plated meals on the table and then departs. Of course, we have to get pictures of the table before we even think of sitting down to the meal!

Breakfast is wonderful, hot and tasty, just as if we’d been seated in Triton’s. We each have glasses of juice that we’d ordered, plus a carafe of coffee for Bob and Linda. Brandon and I have ordered the “Scuttle on the Run” breakfast combo, with scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, sausage, and hash browns, while Bob has oatmeal (which comes in a big bowl!) and a side of toast. Benjamin has the “Mickey’s Special Combo Platter,” a Mickey waffle and scrambled eggs alongside a “pancake tower.” Becky indulges with the “Sebastian’s Trio” of Belgian waffle, pancake and French toast served with cinnamon butter and bacon.

Linda’s choice looks the most interesting to me: the “Atlantis Secret Tower,” a stack of French toast topped with grilled pineapple and a strawberry coulis, served with a maple-glazed fruit salad. Yum.

We enjoy all of this, plus the side of donuts and pastries, in a very leisurely fashion. It is very nice to have breakfast together as a family, cooked to order, served discretely, and then eaten in total luxury and complete privacy. Very, very nice. Did I mention that I could get used to this?

We stuff ourselves happily, though, because, um, we’ll need the energy the food provides for our day of, um,… lounging around on the beach! Yeah, that’s why.
